The Transformative Justice (TJ) Cohort

Part of our Violence Prevention and Community Safety work.

A cohort of advocates, community members, and organizers to expand our violence prevention strategies and acknowledge systemic limitations of doing so. If you’re interested in joining our 2024 cohort, please contact Paris at Paris@endgv.org, and complete the brief application linked below!

“Transformative Justice (TJ) is a political framework and approach for responding to violence, harm and abuse. At its most basic, it seeks to respond to violence without creating more violence and/or engaging in harm reduction to lessen the violence.”

Mia Mingus

The Cohort is a space to:

  • Learn about the values of transformative justice and how anti-carceral ideas and frameworks can help us develop stronger root cause analyses.
  • Explore more options for survivors and communities preventing, responding to, and ending gender based violence.
  • Connect with other preventionists in the King County who value transformative justice and are interested in ways they can deepen their prevention practices.

We are still accepting applications to participate in the 2024 Cohort.
