Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2025: Joint Membership Meeting with Seattle-King County Coalition on Homelessness
For the first time in 5 years, the Coalition Ending Gender-Based Violence and Coalition on Homelessness came together for a joint membership meeting. A lot has changed, but what continues to be steady is our respect and admiration for each other and the relationship that we’ve continued to deepen. In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and in the spirit of collaboration and partnership, we thought it was time to get together for a joint membership meeting!
Meeting attendees included homeless service providers and gender-based violence advocacy programs and organizations, which provided valuable opportunities for connection and future collaboration, and allowed us to explore resources offered by the program attendees represented. Transformative Justice and Prevention Manager, Paris Chapman led a group of advocates, organizers, and allies of gender-based violence work for TWO DAYS of rest and rejuvenation at the Inatai Foundation.

Thank you to our planning partners at the King County Protection Order Advocacy Office and New Beginnings DVHopeline for another successful Advocate Gathering event, where 60+ of us got together to reflect and explore ways to better support trans survivors in our community. Special thanks to guest speakers from Gender Justice League, Seattle LGBTQ+ Center, and our very own Trans Resource and Referral Project Coordinator Mattie Mooney for joining us for this critical conversation.
