This free, virtual, two-hour training is geared towards frontline providers working with people and families experiencing homelessness or with very low incomes. Come learn how best to support the people you work with in applying for and maintaining SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Access Program) Benefits with the new requirements from HR1. This training will cover a SNAP overview including eligibility requirements, how to apply for benefits, work requirements, and additional programs available to SNAP recipients, such as the WA state Food Assistance Program (FAP). Plus, learn tips on how to avoid benefit pitfalls that can result in losing benefits and hear about the hearing and appeals process. This training is facilitated by Solid Ground’s Benefits Legal Assistance team. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss food access programs with experts.
