Harborview Abuse & Trauma Center, Education Forum: Building Capacity with Youth Leaders to Prevent Gender-Based Violence

New Beginnings has multiple programs to prevent teen dating violence. Three of their programs
focus on building youth leadership and capacity for peer education. Join us to learn more about how they’re empowering teens to lead their own prevention work and what challenges their program experiences. Participants will learn more about adultism, the ways it shows up in teens lives, the ways that adults perpetuate it unknowingly, and how our system normalizes it. We will reflect on what it is like to be a teen and what challenges today’s teens may be experiencing.
Participants will learn about the importance of youth leadership in teen dating violence prevention and how to build capacity for youth to self-determine.
