Domestic Violence Housing First (DVHF) is an evidence-based model focused on getting survivors of domestic violence into stable housing as quickly as possible, while providing the necessary support as they rebuild their lives.
WHO: This training is for all levels of staff at gender-based violence agencies and programs (advocates, directors, admin, etc.) who are interested in learning more about this approach or want to brush up their knowledge and skills.
LEARN MORE ABOUT:
- The three pillars of DVHF (survivor-driven, trauma-informed, mobile advocacy; flexible financial assistance; and community engagement) and supporting research.
- Organizational considerations and tools to implement and strengthen the model within programs.
- Challenges to advocacy given the barriers of the affordable housing crisis and resource scarcity, and what strategies exist to address these challenges and build long term solutions.
