WHAT: This event aims to break down silos by bringing together community and systems to discuss and offer multiple responses to those surviving domestic violence and people causing harm. Survivors need more options for healing and justice. What exists now and what are we working toward.

Speakers of the Day
Larry Jefferson was appointed by the justices of the WA Supreme Court to the position of Director of the State Office of Public Defense in 2021. Prior to that, Mr. Jefferson was a public defense attorney in Thurston County for more than 16 years and previously worked as public defender in Kent and Seattle. He helped establish Thurston Count’s pretrial diversion program, First Look program, Trueblood Diversion program and Felony Leadership Improvement Project.
Michelle Osborne consults on antiracist leadership, social justice practice, and prevention of gender-based violence. A former prosecutor and trial attorney, her expertise includes historic legacies of racism; the evolution of structural process, policies, and cultures; roles of women of color in positions of power and leadership and on organizations becoming racially equitable.
For more than 25 years, Doris O’Neal has been dedicated to survivor-defined advocacy, public policy, and restorative justice, with a focus on helping survivors who are African American, living in poverty, or experiencing housing instability. Doris O’Neal is currently the Director of Gender Based Violence Specialized Services. In partnership with the King County Prosecutor’s Office, Doris established Survivors FIRST (Facilitating Information and Resources for Survivors of Trauma) to directly connect to intervention services without criminal charges.
More speakers include: Collective Justice, Restorative Approaches to Intimate Partner Violence (RAIV), and an advocate panel of culturally specific providers in Seattle-King County.
Special performance by The Good Foot Arts Collective, an arts organization with a vision to see youth equipped to end violence before it begins, expressive in the arts through transformative movement and artistic mediums, empowered to reach their full potential through mentorship, and educated to advocate in their community.
