Demystifying Community-Level Prevention

January 30 at 1:00 pm  –  3:00 pm

Prevention seeks to address the root causes of violence at the individual, relationship, community, and societal levels. As the field and movement continues to grow and evolve, more and more focus is being put on community-level prevention strategies.

But what does community-level violence prevention work actually look like in practice? What does it mean to prevent violence through strengthening economic supports or creating protective environments? What does it mean to promote social norms that protect against violence? What do these strategies look like in real life? How can we work with other movements or sectors to ensure our prevention work is more wide-spread and collaborative?

Join WSCADV and preventionists across the state to discuss some of the new and innovative ways we can prevent violence at the community-level in both holistic and realistic ways!
