DESCRIPTION:Asian Pacific Institute on Gender-Based Violence is hosting a webinar: This webinar will provide culturally specific service providers\, advocates\, and legal professionals with practical guidance on survivor privacy\, confidentiality obligations\, and privilege considerations in victim services settings. The session will explain why strong confidentiality policies are essential to survivor safety and program integrity\, clarify the differences between confidentiality and privilege\, and review how federal grant requirements under FVPSA\, VAWA\, and VOCA apply to survivor information. \n\n\n\nPresenters will also discuss related legal frameworks\, including state privilege laws and other federal considerations that may arise in practice. The webinar will include practical discussion of recordkeeping\, electronic files\, responding to requests for client information\, and strengthening organizational policies to protect survivor privacy in real-world service delivery contexts.

Please Note: both days are required; the first day is virtual and the second day is in person. \n\n\n\nIn this hands-on practice guided by experienced Coaches\, participants will build their skills in facilitating Diversion/housing problem-solving conversations\, a trauma-informed\, person-centered approach focused on immediate resolution to a housing crisis. Diversion offers flexible\, light-touch services that may be coupled with minimal financial assistance that results in a temporary or permanent housing arrangement outside of the homeless system. \n\n\n\nThis training is intensive\, intended for folks newly getting introduced to Diversion or needing an in-depth refresher. When the trauma of abuse is exacerbated by the presence of digital evidence—including non-consensual images\, distribution of child sexual abuse material\, or ongoing online harassment—the complexities of healing and securing justice multiply exponentially. \n\n\n\nThis workshop will dissect these challenges\, providing investigators\, prosecutors\, and multidisciplinary members with the critical\, trauma-informed strategies required to successfully navigate these cases from initial investigation through long-term recovery support.
