DESCRIPTION:Required training to access King County’s Centralized Diversion Funds. Please Note: both days are required; the first day is virtual and the second day is in person. \n\n\n\nIn this hands-on practice guided by experienced Coaches\, participants will build their skills in facilitating Diversion/housing problem-solving conversations\, a trauma-informed\, person-centered approach focused on immediate resolution to a housing crisis. Diversion offers flexible\, light-touch services that may be coupled with minimal financial assistance that results in a temporary or permanent housing arrangement outside of the homeless system. \n\n\n\nThis training is intensive\, intended for folks newly getting introduced to Diversion or needing an in-depth refresher. Our central question in this cohort is – what does Justice for survivors and those we’ve lost look like?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe look forward to answering that question with you!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHO: This meeting is open to prevention educators\, community organizers\, your preventionist aunties\, and other providers from adjacent systems interested in this intersection. \n\n\n\nRegistration Required..Accommodations: ASL interpreters available upon request.WHY: Not every survivor can be served well by “main stream” systems. We want to ensure that our analysis and practices account for criminalized survivors\, immigrant survivors\, trafficking survivors\, disabled survivors\, sex workers\, and other populations often underserved or intentionally disenfranchised. It’s beyond time that we look at the limitations of carceral feminism\, and invest in community-based strategies that prevent harm instead of over-resourcing response. \n\n\n\nWHAT: Once a month we’ll gather to learn how we can plug in to work that addresses root causes of gender based violence in our communities. SUMMARY:Seeing What Often Goes Unseen: Identifying and Supporting Survivors of Exploitation
DESCRIPTION:Join us to learn how to best support survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation! \n\n\n\nThis training is intended both for those experienced in supporting CSE survivors and those new to this work: social service providers\, public health workers\, housing providers\, and gender-based violence advocates that may not have expertise in CSE.  \n\n\n\nThis event is co-hosted by the City of Seattle\, King County Veterans\, Seniors\, and Human Services Levy\, and the Coalition Ending Gender-based Violence. Facilitators are: Audrey Baedke\, Jasmine Conway\, and Sarah Ciambrone. The training will be followed by a panel of local CSE providers to discuss their work and learned strategies\, including recent responses to the potential rise of CSE during FIFA/World Cup.Training Topics: \n\n\n\n\nWhat is CSE: How to recognize it? Who is affected?\n\n\n\nHow to assist survivors in accessing resources?\n\n\n\nWhat is the crisis response for CSE?\n\n\n\nWorking with specific populations such as immigrants\, LGBTQIA+\, youth (especially minors).\n\n\n\nHousing and shelter resources for survivors of CSE\n\n\n\nHow to work with those affected by CSE who may not identify as survivors or wish to leave “the life”\n\n\n\nHow CSE interplays within Human Trafficking?

What emerged is more than a reflection of the relationships\, knowledge\, and systems of care that sustain trans and gender-diverse communities every day. \n\n\n\nAt a time when transgender communities are facing increasing barriers to healthcare\, housing\, safety\, legal support\, and basic needs\, access to trusted information and community connections has never been more important. This guide exists because of the collective efforts of people and organizations who continue to show up for our communities. \n\n\n\nFrequency of Care is an opportunity to celebrate that work together. \n\n\n\nThe evening will feature live performances by trans artists\, interactive storytelling\, community activations\, food and beverages\, and opportunities to connect with the many community members\, & organizations helping make care possible throughout our region. \n\n\n\nMost importantly\, this event is a chance to honor the collective network of care represented in these pages and to recognize the people behind the resources. \n\n\n\nWe hope you will join us in celebrating this milestone and the shared commitment to ensuring trans communities have access to the support\, services\, and connections they deserve.
