SUMMARY:2025 National Conference on Ending Homelessness
DESCRIPTION:The 2025 National Conference on Ending Homelessness will bring together service providers\, system leaders\, advocates\, and people with lived experience of homelessness to learn from each other\, discuss best practices\, and share new innovations in the field. In addition to regular workshops\, the conference will offer a variety of session formats to provide attendees exciting new ways to learn\, engage\, and foster connections. \n\n\n\nThis year’s conference will include a few new session formats – including advocacy-focused trainings\, interactive skill-building workshops\, and deep-dive strategy sessions on Wednesday from 2:00–4:30 P.M. following the closing plenary. Please plan your travel accordingly if you wish to attend. These sessions are designed to meet the moment and help attendees develop their advocacy muscles\, preparing them to take action upon returning to their home communities.

DESCRIPTION:Learn how to better support trans survivors in our communities through the Training Series: Supporting Trans Survivors of Gender-Based Violence. This is the first of three sessions in this series. \n\n\n\nThis series provides an overview of gender-based violence (GBV) in Two-Spirit\, Trans\, and Gender Diverse communities\, highlighting the scale of the issue through statistics\, research\, and the intersections of race\, class\, disability\, and neurodiversity. It explores the concept of trans misogyny\, including its role in the current political climate and the impact of widespread anti-trans misinformation\, while also equipping participants with foundational Trans 101 language and tools for continued learning. By the end of the training\, participants will understand the risk factors and barriers trans survivors face\, define trans misogyny within the GBV movement\, and feel more confident in implementing best practices to support Two-Spirit\, Trans\, and Gender Diverse survivors. \n\n\n\nASL Interpretation will be available. \n\n\n\nSession 3 Learning Objectives: \n\n\n\n\nHave tools to evaluate organizational policies for equity \n\n\n\nHave tools and language on how to ask trans sensitive questions on surveys & program evaluations.\n\n\n\nUnderstand key ways to engage in advocacy skills within our organizations and with survivors – i.e. affirming experiences\, connecting to larger struggles of gbv movement\, ending isolation of individuals\, \n\n\n\nHave tools to navigate uncomfortable conversations or invasive questions by colleagues or other program participants about trans people.\n\n\n\n\nCEUs Available.

DESCRIPTION:Hosted by New Beginnings \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNo cost series for aspiring peer educators\, activists\, and leaders ages 15-18 \n\n\n\nNew Beginnings is hosting our fourth annual Youth Leadership Camp July 21st – 24th at the Capitol Hill Library! \n\n\n\n10am – 3pm on July 21st\, 22nd & 23rd& 12 – 5pm on July 24th \n\n\n\nHigh school students ages 15-18 who are interested in promoting healthy relationships norms in their school communities are invited to attend this free event! \n\n\n\nThe Youth Leadership Camp will support leadership development through workshops centered around relationships\, anti-violence\, advocacy\, and more. You’ll meet other local teens who share similar values. Together\, you’ll learn and practice peer education skills to engage your own community. \n\n\n\nWe will provide lunch- dietary restrictions accommodated. Folks who attend 3+ days will receive a certificate of completion that will look great on college/job applications! \n\n\n\nThank you for filling out this registration form! SUMMARY:Building Changes' Diversion Training
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Washington State Advanced Diversion Consultants & Trainers\, Africatown International\, and the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund\, Building Changes is coordinating intensive two-day Diversion trainings. These two-day trainings are free and will be offered multiple times in 2025. \n\n\n\nWhat is Diversion: Diversion offers flexible\, light-touch services that may be coupled with minimal financial assistance that results in a temporary or permanent housing arrangement outside of the homeless system. \n\n\n\nWho should attend: These trainings are accessible for everyone but will have particular relevance for homeless/housing assistance providers\, community-based partners working with people seeking services\, and representatives from systems adjacent to our homeless response system. Right now we are prioritizing trainings for providers working in King County\, WA. If you are outside of King County and would like to inquire about available spots in upcoming trainings\, or if you are interested in scheduling a separate training for your community\, please contact Dimitri Groce\, Director of Practice Innovation at Building Changes. \n\n\n\nWhat will be covered: In this training\, participants will learn the Diversion approach and apply their skills through hands-on practice guided by experienced Diversion Coaches. The Diversion approach is intended to be a fast intervention applicable at any step in helping individuals and families identify immediate\, safe housing arrangements. It can be coupled with financial assistance for temporary or permanent housing arrangements outside of the homeless system. \n\n\n\nFormat: Each training is two days\, taking place 9:30 am–3:30 pm each day. Day 1 of the training will be virtual\, and Day 2 will be in person at Pacific Tower in Seattle.
