DESCRIPTION:Join the Coalition Ending Gender-Based Violence and the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence on a training about the Domestic Violence Housing First (DVHF) approach. \n\n\n\nDate: Thursday\, August 22\, 2024Time: 10a – 1pWhere: Zoom \n\n\n\nDomestic Violence Housing First (DVHF) is an evidence-based model focused on getting survivors of domestic violence into stable housing as quickly as possible\, while providing the necessary support as they rebuild their lives.  \n\n\n\nWHO:  This training is for all levels of staff at gender-based violence agencies and programs (advocates\, directors\, admin\, etc.) who are interested in learning more about this approach or want to brush up their knowledge and skills. \n\n\n\nLEARN MORE ABOUT: \n\n\n\n\nThe three pillars of DVHF (survivor-driven\, trauma-informed\, mobile advocacy; flexible financial assistance; and community engagement) and supporting research.\n\n\n\nOrganizational considerations and tools to implement and strengthen the model within programs.\n\n\n\nChallenges to advocacy given the barriers of the affordable housing crisis and resource scarcity\, and what strategies exist to address these challenges and build long term solutions. \n\n\n\n\nWHAT’S ON THE AGENDA:  \n\n\n\n\nDV Housing First: Overview and Basics\n\n\n\nScenarios and Q&A\n\n\n\nDV Housing Advocacy Skills\n\n\n\nLandlord/Tenant and Community Engagement\n\n\n\n\nThis training is free for members and membership organizations only.
