DESCRIPTION:From the University of Washington HATC Education Forum \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis session will provide an overview of barriers to healthy relationships that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities face and look to break assumptions and misinformation about people’s ability to have healthy and fulfilling personal and sexual relationships. It will also provide guidance to disability support staff and advocates on how to support people with disabilities in accessing and maintaining safe and appropriate sexual and personal relationships. Romantic and intimate personal relationships are vital to healthy and fulfilling lives for all people\, and fostering healthy sexuality is often one of the best methods for preventing sexual abuse and violence.
