The New Day Database
The New Day Database is a comprehensive database of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other gender-based violence services across King County and surrounding adjacent counties (Skagit, Thurston, Pierce, Snohomish).
Developed as a tool for gender based violence advocates, it’s a means to foster coordination and co-advocacy, strengthen relationships and communication channels across agencies, and overall, streamline the referral processes and reduce barriers for survivors seeking safety and stability.
Note: The target audience of the New Day Database are gender-based organizations in the Puget Sound region.
Taking an old idea, making it new
The New Database emerged from the Day One Program, initially held by the City of Seattle Mayor’s Office on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (MODVSA) in partnership with Cornerstone, a domestic violence agency in Minnesota.
In 2020, oversight for Day One was transitioned to the CEGV. The Coalition revamped the old system and launched it in 2021 through a new and improved platform with expanded functionalities.
The New Day Database currently includes 35 agencies across 5 counties with 188 service records encompassing the breadth of gender-based violence services in our region.
