LGBTQ Access Project

From 2012-2014, the Coalition led a national demonstration project in partnership with the Northwest Network of Bi, Trans, Lesbian and Gay Survivors of Abuse, the first of its kind to test and evaluate a regional strategy to increase access to victim services for LGBTQ survivors of violence. More than twenty organizations participated from across the region, including many Coalition member agencies. While the demonstration project has formally concluded, the Coalition and the Northwest Network have developed a joint stand-alone website, “Demonstrate Access”, with many strategies and tools for organizations to further build the capacities of service providers in King County and beyond. We remain committed to ensuring that services in King County are culturally accessible and appropriate to LGBTQ survivors, as well as survivors from other marginalized communities.
